NEW YORK FASHION WEEK: every fashion-obsessed girl's dream. The shows! The outfits! The street style! The inspiration! It's all so overwhelming (in a very glamorous way!).
The first day of New York Fashion Week brought with it Winter Storm Niko. Fashionistas, designers, models, photographers, bloggers descended upon the winter wonderland that was Manhattan. I trekked through the blizzard to my first show of the day: Nicholas K.
The Nicholas K show boasted eye-catching metallic booties and heels, a range of hues from deep burgundy to soft beige to grungy gray, tilted berets, and one hoop earrings. The entire production was very reminiscent of the 90's, bringing back images of the era when hip-hop dominated the music industry.
Later I headed over to the Projective Space to view New York designer Katie Gallagher's FW17 collection: "Hallow." Much of the inspiration was derived from men's military clothing such as the MA-1 bomber jacket. The collection was comprised of mostly black with spectacular pops of orange in a mixture of fabrics from tulle to pony fur leathers to silk and wool.
Since it was so cold, I pulled out all my warmest coats and accessories. I wanted to add some life to the dreary winter weather so I added accessories with pops of color. My OTK boots saved me from all the snow, but also doubled up as an extra layer protecting my calves from the chill!
